6 Hour behind the wheel instruction

Elite Driving Academy is pleased to have one of the best 6 hour behind the wheel driving school programs in NJ.  The 6 hour behind the wheel driving course is divided into three 2-hour sessions scheduled at a convenient time for you or your student driver. Students are exposed to:

  • basic car operations
  • local and highway driving
  • parallel parking
  • K-turns (3 point turns)
  • reverse driving

Students are also taken to a local NJMVC agency where their permit will be stamped, validated, and a road test date scheduled.

Additional Lessons

While the State of NJ requires a 6 hour behind-the-wheel driving course be completed in order to obtain your Special Learner's Permit at the age of 16, this is the bare minimum of instruction.  It is important for you to continue taking the student out driving as much as possible to expose them to a variety of different driving situations.  Elite Driving Academy will work with you and your student driver to assess their skills and abilities to determine the need for additional lessons.  Options offered include:

  • Continuing skill development lessons (offered in 1 or 2 hour increments)
  • Review lessons prior to road test

NJ Permit Testing

In order to obtain a license in the State of New Jersey, you must pass the NJ Knowledge Exam (Written exam).  For most 16 year-olds, their local high schools will offer a driver's education class and the opportunity to take the written exam.  If for some reason the student does not pass the exam at the high school, or your school does not offer a drivers' education class, Elite Driving Academy is licensed by the NJDMV to administer the Written Knowledge Exam in our office in Woodcliff Lake for a nominal fee.

Door-to-door drop off/pick up Service

Each student is picked up at a location of their choice, and dropped off at their final destination.

Road test services

Elite Driving Academy offers road test services for those clients who do not have a car that meets the NJDMV requirements or for those who feel more comfortable being accompanied by an instructor.
